Three Books to Break Intergenerational Trauma
Heal yourself so future generations can feel free.
This is purely my opinion, and I do not receive any money for information in this article. The books are recommended; I have found them extremely helpful in my journey. The links are there for easy access to the books if you want to buy them for yourself!
1. Healing Ancestral Karma by Dr. Steven D. Farmer
This book is wonderful for those who want to learn about how family history impacts current relational behavior in the family of origin. Have you ever wondered why you or others in your family behave in ways that mismatch reality? This book is excellent for those open to a spiritual path towards healing family history. This book has a spiritual emphasis on intergenerational healing.
2. Emotional Inheritance by Galit Atlas
This book is about generational family trauma that lives within the familial structure. The family will feel the impact until the unspoken experiences, secrets, and trauma come to light. Learning the family history helps free emotional heaviness, offers to help understand confusing behaviors, and releases the shame that keeps family systems stuck. This book focuses on the connections we have with our ancestors through emotional inheritance, even though we may be generations apart.
3. It Didn’t Start with You by Mark Wolynn
This book explains how trauma passes through generations, impacting people far removed from the original trauma. Trauma lives in people, transferring the impact from generation to generation. This is an excellent read for those who want to learn how their current family is actively living out the traumas of the past.
Be wise. Be well.
Sincerely,
Erin
